Description
This wine is made with a blend of Corvina Veronese (40%), Corvinone (40%), and Rondinella (20%) grapes. The vines, which are around 40 years old on average, are grown using the traditional Pergola system. The grapes are carefully hand-selected and then placed into traditional wooden plateaux, where they rest for 120 days to concentrate all the elements. The wine is made with the utmost respect for the grapes, using a combination of traditional and innovative techniques. Refinement takes place for 48 months in French oak 500 litre tonneaux and a further 8-12 months in the bottle. The wine has an intense ruby red color with slightly brick colored reflexes. It has a typical nose of cherries under spirit and sweet notes of vanilla, spiced with nutmeg and cocoa. On the palate, it is full-bodied and warm, yet soft yet powerful, and incredibly long-lasting.
