Our wine estate is situated in Leiwen on the Moselle River, in the centre of the oldest German winegrowing region, adjacent to one of the largest and most beautiful Moselle River bends. The steep slate slopes, mostly facing south, rise above the sheltered river valley. The vineyard soil is rich in minerals and combined with the warm weather zone creates the perfect microclimate for the Riesling grape. In 1982 Gerhard Grans took over the estate from his father Matthias steadily increasing the once 10 acre estate to its present 24 acres. We cultivate 88% Riesling, 10% Pinot Blanc and 2% Pinot Gris. Our best sites are classified to be in the highest category.
