Montepulciano is a black grape variety grown mainly in central Italy, which finds its maximum expression in
Abruzzo and with which are produced Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo DOC, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC red, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Hills Teramo DOCG .
No kinship with Rosso or Nobile di Montepulciano, wines produced in the province of Siena obtained from a type of Sangiovese.
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is a wine that fully reflects the region in which it is produced. Rebel and majestic, full and edgy, with a marked acidity and a wild nature, characteristics that are softened by the passage in cask, in barriques and by aging. It is the result of a territory wedged between sea and mountains, characterized by different altitudes and climatic areas that give each Montepulciano a unique quality.
